Hi, guys, I hope you are doing well. Today I am gonna share best home remedies to get rid of the dry throat in a healthy and natural manner. Dry throat problem becomes very common in winters and it becomes very annoying for the person to handle this as it causes pain and irritation. As such dry throat is not a life taking disease but it can be if it is not properly treated on time.

How to soothe a sore throat

A dry throat can be caused due to many reasons such as

  • Lack of water in the body
  • Pollution or dust
  • Dryness in the air
  • Allergy
  • Infection

Although medicines are available to cure dry throat, but as people suffer from this problem quite often it is not good to have as many medicines for the human body. It is true that medicines cure our illness but at the same time, we can not ignore the side effects of the same on our immune system. Home remedies are the best way to cure disease by making your immune system more stronger. Here I am listing best home remedies to get rid of a dry throat problem.

Lime Water-: Lime water Contains a good amount of vitamin C and antioxidants which are very helpful in curing a dry throat. It is considered as most natural and effortless home remedy as it does not harm your body and also you can prepare lime water at home very easily just you need to squeeze a lemon in warm water and mix it by adding a pinch of salt. Drinking lime water at least once a day will help in keeping your throat hydrated.

Keep Hydrated-: The main reason for a dry throat is dryness in the air. When you breathe through the mouth, unfiltered air enters your body which further causes dry throat problem. In that situation, it is important to keep your body hydrated by taking more liquid in your diet. Here are the ways by which you can keep your body hydrated such as

  • Black Tea
  • Cinnamon Tea
  • Ginger Tea
  • Cardamom Tea
  • Soup (veg or non-veg)

Note-: a) Avoid coffee for treating dry throat problem as it contains caffeine which makes your mouth dry.

              c) Avoid chicken soup for infants.

 

No fast food-: Nowadays fast food is the main problem of the young generation that consists of harmful spices and lots of salt which is a reason for dry throat. Consuming much fast food while suffering from this problem may make the condition worse by resulting in a throat infection so it’s better to consume only less spicy and normal food.

Honey-: Honey is considered as the first choice in cold, chest congestion and dry throat problem as it has many benefits such as it act as an antioxidant, anti-inflammation, antiviral and anti-infection etc. Taking honey at least twice a day with warm water will give you relief from pain faster. You can also add apple cider vinegar in it for best results. It will also make your immune system stronger.

 

 

Note-: You might have heard that everything which has an advantage has a disadvantage also. You can not give honey to your cute infant as honey contains such enzymes which an infant may not have the capability to digest.

Saltwater gargling-: Gargling with salt water is a very simple and easy home remedy as it does not take much time and you can use it even in a very busy schedule. You just need to mix a teaspoonful of salt in warm water and start gargling by taking this salt water in your mouth. Repeat this process for 2 or 3 minutes. Using salt gargling remedy at least twice a day helps in keeping your throat hydrated all the time.

Steam-: Taking steam is the best way to relax your body in illness as it helps in relaxing your muscles. You can take steam by putting some drops of Vicks into the hot water bowl and inhaling the steam comes out of it with your head covered with any cloth or towel so that you can take steam properly. Another way to have a steam is to take a hot water shower as it helps in maintaining moisture around you.

Note-: While taking steam by using hot water bowl and Vicks do not harm your body by touching the bowl just keep a good distance. Keep your kids away from the bowl.

Oral Medicines-: Various medicines are available on almost all the medical store but I will recommend only take those medicines which is prescribed by your doctor as it can adversely affect your health.

Note-: Cold is a kind of diseases which happens with the change in weather because our body takes time to get adjusted to the environment. Taking as much medicine affects our internal organs so I always prefer home remedy first to cure this problem.
